Hey NYC parents! This is Fatima from NYC Kids PAC, and we wanted to let you know that this year, for the first time, you and all NYC public school parents get the opportunity to vote online for YOUR district Community Education Councils and Citywide Council members. The elections start Friday April 21 and run through Tuesday May 9.

All you need to vote online is a NYC Schools Account. Once you get the account, you can also track your child’s attendance and grades, receive updates on school closures, bus routes and more.
To get a NYC Schools Account, all you need a code from your school, which you can get from your parent coordinator. Then go to www.schoolsaccount.nyc and create your account or reactivate it if it has lapsed.
Citywide & Community Education Councils are our local school boards and give input on education policies and have the power to approve school rezonings.

Which council you vote for is determined by your children’s grade and whether they have an IEP or are English Language Learners. Depending on your number of children, you may be able to vote for more than one council.  For each council, you get three votes for members.  Remember: our endorsed candidates are here.
