NYC Kids PAC endorsements for the August 23, 2022 primaries!

Here are the public education champions who we believe deserve your support:

Jamaal Bowman for US Congress in CD16:  Jamaal, a former Bronx principal, was elected two years ago and has quickly become a progressive leader for change: introducing a Green New Deal for schools, opposing the College Transparency Act, which would have been a huge violation of student privacy if passed, and speaking out forcefully on a whole range of important education issues.  Kids PAC enthusiastically endorses Jamaal for re-election in the new CD 16.

Jo Anne Simon for US Congress in CD10 –  Though there are several progressive candidates for this seat, Jo Anne’s record on education stands out.  Throughout her career, she’s been a champion for NYC kids as a teacher of deaf/blind students, a special education attorney, a leader in Legislature for lowering class size and for requiring dyslexia screening.

Robert Jackson for NY Senate District 31:  Robert has fought for equitable funding for NYC schools for more than twenty years, as a public school parent, school board member, as chair of the NYC Council Education Committee, and now in the State Senate.   He led fight for smaller classes last session & is now being targeted by billionaire charter school lobby.   He deserves your enthusiastic support and vote.

Cordell Cleare for NY Senate District 30; as chair of the Coalition to End Lead Poisoning, Cordell has fought for landmark health and housing legislation to protect children from lead poisoning and has been an advocate for public schools in the State Senate.

Gustavo Rivero for NY Senate District 33Gustavo Rivero has been a progressive leader and a strong supporter of public schools in the NY State Senate; and like Robert Jackson, he has been targeted by the charter school lobby for defeat.  Please vote for him on August 23.
