Kids PAC endorsements for Manhattan, Brooklyn Borough President and two more City Council races

Today, NYC Kids PAC, the only NYC PAC focused on public schools, announced our endorsements and ranked choices for the Manhattan and Brooklyn Borough President races, as well as in two additional City Council races.

We endorsed Brad Hoylman for Manhattan BP, with the second ranked choice of Kim Watkins, because of their dynamic leadership on public education. We also endorsed Antonio Reynoso for Brooklyn Borough President with a second ranked choice of Jo Anne Simon, for their progressive positions and records in supporting our public schools. We added to our previous City Council endorsements in 23 key races, by endorsing Shekar Krishnan for the District 25 Council seat, with 2^nd ranked choice of Carolyn Tran; and added Kim Moscaritolo as our 3^rd ranked choice in District 5 in Manhattan.

We based our endorsements on the records and the positions of these candidates on critical issues ranging from mayoral control, class size, integration, and funding, to charter schools, high stakes testing and more.

NYC will have a huge turnover of elected representatives in 2022, and our kids deserve the officials who will fight to protect and strengthen our public schools. We believe the candidates we have selected will do just that. We are asking that all who care about the future of our public schools vote for them and contribute and volunteer for their campaigns. We are also encouraging parents, educators and other concerned voters to be sure to fill in their ranked choices during the June 22 primary, to ensure that the most qualified and committed candidates rise to the top.”

We solicited surveys from Council candidates in 39 district races and now have endorsed in 24 of those races, as well as two Borough President races. We also intend to endorse and provide ranked choices soon in the Mayoral race, as well as for NYC Comptroller.
